Welcome to the Renegade Esports SMP!

Welcome, adventurers, to the Renegade Esports SMP, a Minecraft world designed to bring our community together. This server is more than just vanilla, it’s a place where players can explore, collaborate, and compete, while experiencing a unique lore & questing system. Whether you are looking to be a bandit, a builder, a farmer or just want to complete quests, this server has something for everyone! While the variety of systems adds depth and excitement, it may also take time to fully understand them. This newsletter is designed to dive into some key features this SMP involves!

Economy

The Renegade SMP features a dynamic economy where players can sell resources to earn Bits (gold nuggets), the base currency of the world. Each Bit is worth $5.

Players can also trade for Coins (gold ingots), where 1 Coin equals 10 Bits. Plots of land are available for rent for 7 days, with pricing tiers at $1,000, $1,500, and $2,500 per week, encouraging strategic resource management.

War of Two Kingdoms

Two ancient kingdoms dominate the Renegade SMP: The Kingdom of Oriadore, a medieval kingdom focused on agriculture, and The Kingdom of Lycoria, a Roman-inspired empire emphasizing military power and weaponry.

The two kingdoms have been at war for as long as anyone can remember, though the origins of the conflict are shrouded in mystery.

Players are tasked with uncovering the truth behind the war, with opportunities to align themselves with either side or seek out hidden histories.

Unknown

Beyond the safety of the kingdoms lies a lawless expanse known as The Unknown. PvP is enabled here, and alliances are fragile. While rich in resources, The Unknown is perilous, and it’s strongly recommended that players venture out in groups.

Trust your party, but stay vigilant—betrayal is always a possibility. Gather wisely, and prepare for the unknown dangers that await.

Player Owned Housing

Players can rent safe plots of land within the kingdoms, providing security for their belongings and a personal space to build. These plots can be rented weekly by trading with the Gold Hoarder, who exchanges Bits and Coins for currency. The plot system ensures that players have a secure base, while still engaging in the broader economy of the SMP.

Inner Kingdom

The Inner Kingdom is a special region, filled with unique structures and shops offering rare items that can’t be found elsewhere. It also hosts a variety of interactive experiences such as quests, bounties, and even cafes.

For the first week, the Inner Kingdom will be locked, but once opened, it promises to be a hub of player activity. The admins have put in considerable effort to make the Inner Kingdom a place worth exploring and inhabiting.

Ohlone Campus

We are excited to announce the beginning of our Ohlone College Campus build on Minecraft!

Both the Newark and Fremont campuses will be recreated in-game, providing a virtual space for future events and community engagement.

This digital version of Ohlone aims to extend the reach of our campus, bringing together students in a fun and interactive way.

Club Rush

Our first big event is Club Rush, scheduled for October 19th! We’ve invited all clubs from Ohlone College to participate, providing a great opportunity for discoverability. This event is designed to foster intersectional connections across campus, with each club having a presence in the virtual world.
